Field Visit Research: UC Medical campus has diverse set of problems

WIth a diverse community of Medical students, health care workers, patients, families, and long term residents, UC medical campus lacks clear navigation, transportation options, and leisure areas.

Exploring personas to develop inclusive solutions

Three different personas were created to identify the different opportunity areas with the current medical campus. By having different personas to solve for, this requires the final hub system to have inclusive solutions that supports a community with a large range of residents coming by.

Polestar's brand value aligns closely with project's core identity

As the project developed and the design goals were solidified, the Polestar brand stood out with having similar brand values with the project's core identity of valuing the importance of sustainability, future focused, and safety for all. Thus, Polestar was chosen as the main brand for the hub system.

System focus and storyboarding

Three different personas were created to identify the different opportunity areas with the current medical campus. By having different personas to solve for, this requires the final hub system to have inclusive solutions that supports a community with a large range of residents coming by.

Packaging development through user role-play

To check the vehicle package dimensions and ideate initial experiences, the team went through the user storyboard and role played the experience for each persona to adjust final measurements to use for CAD.

Clean and inviting atmosphere moodboard

The hub exterior design incorporates greenery and natural elements. For visual continuity, the interior inspiration board focused on minimal geometric shapes with softer, natural woods, and fibers that would create a calming atmosphere.

Visual ideation through sketches and VR

Taking the inspiration of the hub and mobility, various components were created for each floor experience through the use of physical sketches and the VR program, Gravity Sketch, to check proportions and general form.
